My most recent project to reach completion was the new issue of my sporadic, puerile comic Bunnies That Hate #4 which is currently at the printers (for pick up Friday).
The two nameless rabbit characters, a boy and a girl that swear a lot, were originally created for a theatre show I wrote in which a desperate cartoonist had an existential crisis.
I later re-adopted them for use in my first 24 Hour Comics Day challenge in 2006, and did two more issues with them in 2007 (issue 2 was done entirely on a computer over two weeks, and issue three was done in 24 hours). 15 pages of issue four were done at the 24 hour challenge, the rest were done later.
I kind of ran out of time for the cover of the new issue so I used my iconic bunny image that I've been pimping for years now. Seeing as how that image was just exhibited (and sold) at the Candy Cult exhibition I thought it might be a good time to get it out there anyway. The new issue will be available November 1st at the Northbridge Festival on James St from 1 - 11pm. If it does well I may do a second printing (I also have some issue threes to unload).
Here's are the covers so far... (it was originally called Saucy Voyeur which was going to be an all encapsulating anthology book which moved far beyond the bunnies, but I hate that name now, and it's all pretty bunny centric. If I reprint I will retitled those first two books).
Oh, and I plan to do a limited Complete Bunnies That Hate collection next year through a print on demand service. It will be 100 pages plus and hopefully have some bonus content and some submissions from other artists (if anyone wants to tackle a bunny story).
