I haven't used it yet, but I also agree that we should. I know that it's like quick short blogs / updates, but how do people see them? Do they have to visit your site?

I think there are plugins that you can get so people can read it on your blog, but otherwise, I think its a beast of its own via twitter.com. I know you can update it via text/sms and a lot of people who use it tend to follow it religiously via their phone, or at least are notified of updates like that. I still don't know much as to how to use it to get the most out of it.
