Things we will need: - Name
- legend (such as santa or jesus or consumerism)
- iconographic tell tales that are associated with it (santa is to christmas as jesus is to easter as consumerism is to valentines day)
- little things that go with it, like chocolate eggs or liquorish todger candy
and others I'm sure, but this could be a good start off

New winner for "Gayest Post on The Board So Far." Awesome! I'm sure someone will come and beat me. I'm very serious about the color scheme. Halloween is Orange/Black, Christmas is Green/Red, Easter is light colors. This new holiday needs new colors. And I want an excuse to make a corny song.

Agreed agreed. I agree with you all.
Let's start with a date. I vote somewhere in May because nothing happens in May, and it's not too far away?
Anyone for or against?
Should probably start on a Saturday or Sunday too. Saturday would be best considering our time difference.
So our May options are 2, 9, 16, 23 or 30.
Anyone have any good feelings there?

Nothing happens in May? My birthday happens in May! The most important holiday of the year!

Is that the new gayest post?
Is your birthday on a Saturday?

Im indifferent to May, but I like the idea of having it on a saturday, but rather than setting a date that will change its day every year, why don't we pull an easter. I propose the 2nd saturday before June 1st.

Is that the new gayest post? Is your birthday on a Saturday? Yes, yes it is. My birthday is on a Saturday, and it's in April, that's even nearer! plus, there aren't any special days that I know about in that month. Well, except Easter, but that holiday is a whore that swings between March and April. And I agree with a colour scheme, I think purple should be involved, and possibly maroon, they are underused colours in the grand scheme of holidays.

I like Mike's semi thinking. But what about the first Saturday of June? That would be the 6th of June in this case, and wouldn't interfere with Grug's birthday celebrations and would give us plenty of time to prepare and write songs.
I also like purple.
What say you all?

First Saturday in June works for me. So what's next? We need some sort of overall theme for the holiday.
