I finally managed to get a copy of Brave New World (well, actually my wife did as she got it for me or Xmas). Certainly a damn good read. I love utopian/dystopian stories, and this one has one of the most outrageous ideas for a utopian future. See it now before Ridley Scott turns it into a movie and you won't be able to complain about the inconsistencies whilst watching it.
Also, just finished the 850pg graphic novel A Drifting Life. It's the biographical story of a manga artists who got into the field in the 50s. Admittedly I had no idea who the guy was, but it's such a fascinating look at how he attempted to change the genre from 4-panel gag strips into full stories while also trying to deal with the crushing demands of publishers, that it honestly didn't matter.
