I'm having a pretty productive week so far. I found my actress for the new short theatre piece I'm submitting to write and direct in early 09. I met with her, put together a lot of ideas and submitted an application. I also plotted out the first issue of the comics collaboration with Grug and wrote quite a few pages of dialogue. Grug's also been working on the character designs and we've had some cool back and forth on that. When we're at a point where we can share, I'll start a thread.
Today I'm picking Bunnies That Hate #4 up from the printer. And all day tomorrow I will be working at the 24 Hour Comics Day stall at the Northbridge festival pimping my, and everyone else's shit.
Oh, and of course NaNoWrimo starts tomorrow so if I'm hardcore I can crank out 3,200 words for that too by the end of Sunday. Ouch.

Hello my name is KJ,
I am a Perth writer/musician/actor/director. Love what you guys have going on here.
It has been productive. This week I wrote three and a half new solo songs. Started working on a website to display said songs and other stuff. Started writing a comedy routine that I'm not sure will ever see the light of day. Submitted a short theatre piece for 25 Summer Nights that I will write and direct in early 2009. Also applied for Deckchair Theatre's Emerging Artist Program, which will be running in 2009. This is to work as a director with a mentor - can't hurt to apply.
Applied for NaNoWrimo, but still don't have an idea. So maybe I will give up or maybe I will just write rubbish and see where it takes me. The only problem being if it takes me nowhere I won't have time to turn back. Any ideas?

Hi KJ!
Luke it may be my nineteenth-century literature background but whenever I see the word 'actress' I think whore.

Have you seen most of the local actresses? I could tell you some stories.
Hey KJ! Super cool to see you here, and you have been one productive fuck. Definitely give Nano a go. You might be surprised where it takes you. Cool you're going for Solo Spot too. The Deckchair initiative sounds good too. How much cool shit is going on??

I know there are many things happening in our sleepy little death toll town of late. Also just applied for HotBed today!
We still need to catch up Luke - don't think I forgot / or am letting you off that easy!

You coming down to the Northbridge Festival at all this weekend? I'll be there all day tomorrow, could probably bugger off for a little bit for a drink. There's a lot of shows I need to see too but I'm running out of time.
Don't forget that I'm old and surly, KJ. And I don't drive. And Suzanne works nights. So most nights I'm very content to be at home working. I know, I know... you'd think with all my highflyin' Internet activity that I lead an exciting life.

So the week is over and I feel like I accomplished a few things. I built a stage for the Arts venue that I'm working on. I started a business card design for the same Arts venue. I also wrote about 1200 words for Nanowrimo, got my blog up and running, worked on a few card game ideas, played a show with my friends band, tried to sculpt Abraham Lincoln and drew Naked Princess Leia Playing Guitar Hero. I'm beat... and not ready for Monday.

that looks awesome! I do like the small child rocking out as well. Are you going to black out the room (paint it black, cover the window, etc)?

Thank god that hellish week is over!
I managed to do a daily comic (though the got worse as the week progressed), make 16 pop-up books (with the help of Jessica) do some designs for the project I am working on for Luke and pimp our stuff at the NBF.
This week I will work some more on the Luke project, I will also start work on another collaboration I got pitched this week, do my usual daily comics and... well, maybe I'll take it a bit easier this week. Play some Wii.

The stage will have black curtains in the back and sides. The ceiling will be black as well. The stage will also be carpeted soon. The front will have a valence curtain with a small light bar behind it. And we'll be opening the right side wall with a doorway from the stage to the next room over. This will be like a backstage/dressing room area for performers.
The kid loves that stage. She dances, sings and bangs on the drums the whole time we're up there working.
