Best Buy has the Diablo 2 battlechest on sale this week for $20, and I had all intentions of picking it up today but the mall fucking sucks (holidays aside, the Mall of NH just sucks when it comes to finding parking. the same can be said about almost anywhere in NH). Go to order it online because I don't want to deal with it, and its backordered (of course).
The moral of this post is that at some time this week I intend to re-pick this up and start playing, would anyone else be up for this? Luke and Suzanne I'm more or less assuming you two would be up for it, but how about others? we can get up to 8 people playing at the same time online (if memory serves).

totally up for it, of course.
For the Australians, EB currently has the battlechest (original Diablo, Diablo 2, Diablo 2 Expansion and a strategy guide) for 35 which is pretty awesome.

Gamestop also has the Battlechest on sale for 19.99, Colossal Cockhole. They also have the WoW Battlechest with Burning Crusade (no Lich King) for 29.99. I picked one up yesterday for my cousin. I'll play D2 if I can get it to work on my MacBook. I previously tried to install it and it wouldn't work. *sigh*

I think I've already asked this before, but how does the online play work? Is it a subscription service like Warcraft? I've had a major Warcraft itch lately, but I've been fighting it hard.

no fees, all free through their battle.net servers. if I recall, you can have as many characters as you like, but like WoW only one person can be logged into an account at a time. Its a pretty different experience from WoW, but just as righteously awesome

Colossal Cockhole, have you heard/read anything about them changing the battle.net servers once Diablo 3 (woot) comes out? Are they going to charge like WoW?

This is all I found doing a quick search for it: www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55271looks like basic mutiplayer is still free, but they're going to add some pay services too? I don't think i've played since Tanner with the T1 connection, and my copy went missing right before I moved out of W. Clarke, so if theres been changes I don't know about them.

I hope you aren't implying that I stole your copy, because I had bought my Battlechest by then!

My new Diablo is missing the serial numbers (except for the expansion). We have to return it tomorrow and get one that's right.
But in other gaming news I was gifted a gamecard and Lich King so there goes my resolve about not playing while unemployed. The only catch is I installed it on a Tuesday night when the realm is down. Mother. fucker.
