Got life drawing dates for 2010... yes, 2010.
March 2 April 6 May 4 June 1 July 6 August 3 September 7 October 5 November 2 December 7
------------------------------------------
Well, I just got back from my first life drawing session in about 8 years. And even though I'm not too proud of any of the stuff I did, it felt good to be doing it again.
As such, I'm wondering if any of you fellow Perthians would be interested in making this a monthly event with me?
The location I did it at was the King St Arts Centre (it's on Murray street just East of the Belgian Café) although I have found out that they are done in various places such as Freo and Guildford (those are apparently done weekly), but I must say that the city one is the most convenient for myself (and I'd imagine if multiple people were to do this, it would be for everyone involved).
So yeah, the next session is April 14th, it goes from 7-9:30 and costs $10 (but it has free wine and juice). And hey, we could go out for a drink afterwards and catch up and what not.
If you have any questions, know of any other events (I don't know the details for the Freo sessions but I'd like to) or are interested in joining me for some of the other sessions let me know.

This sounds really good, but if Tuesday is the regular night then this isn't good for me at all. Tuesday nights are insane. But life drawing is really, really invaluable and a great stepping stone to progressing.
If it was Wednesday or Thursday or even a short session Monday I'd be leaping at this. Perth is close for me.

I got the rest of the dates for the year, so I thought I would share if anyone is interested. Each session runs from 7-9:30 at 357 Murray Street (First floor meeting room), costs $10 and includes the model and either orange juice or wine: 5 May 2 June 7 July 4 August 1 September 6 October 10 November 1 December This sounds really good, but if Tuesday is the regular night then this isn't good for me at all. Tuesday nights are insane. But life drawing is really, really invaluable and a great stepping stone to progressing. If it was Wednesday or Thursday or even a short session Monday I'd be leaping at this. Perth is close for me. Apparently there is another place that has two sessions on Wednesdays (one in the morning and another in the evening every week) for $12. I need to try to find out more info about that. It's nt in the city proper, but isn't as far away as Freo (there are also weekly sessions there too, somewhere).

Jess and I are also thinking of attending the next one. (We had a rock show to go to last night)

It went great. First male model of the three I've been to so far. Started off a little out of it but I managed to pick up in the latter half. Ended up doing a couple of blind contours that got me going better.
I really need to look into going to the one on Wednesday and trying that one out.

Just a note that I've very disappointed in all of you. No one else showed up for the session last week. Tut tut. Shame on all of you.

Just a bump to remind everyone about left drawing next Tuesday. Good times are had by all. Get to look at naked people. Draw them, and drink some cheap wine from a box.
