NWWBW has been quiet of recent times. I can understand why, I mean, its that time of year when everything starts kicking in again and suddenly your besieged with the mundane stuff which you were doing before the holiday season but don't quite remember it all being so difficult to juggle. Also Luke and I are simultaneously working full time, and we (moreso him) do a fair bit to fill this board with crap. But lets not let the dream die! What have you been up to?
I just had a monologue in Solo Spot at the Blue Room finish last night, which I was really happy with. I feel odd saying its a creative activity since I wrote it ages ago and just handballed it to Luke and have since then not had much to do with it. But I was really happy with it, thought it was great. Am sad that it's just vanished into the ether like all theatre does.
I have been blogging like a mofo. do drop by and check it out some time. I am pretty proud of my recent Watchmen review, which I can put down to the whole bottle of wine I consumed before writing.
How about you, buddy? Whats up?

NWWBW has been quiet of recent times. We need a killer challenge (like Naked GH Princess Leia). There hasn't been anything like that in a while. So my creativity has been mostly in my head this week. I'm constantly running around, and only sitting still when I'm working. But I have loads of ideas. I would love to write, film, draw, etc. I outlined a 9 part internet video series a few years back, and I fully wrote out the first few episodes. I've seriously been thinking about pulling it out to see if I can do something with it. I've been solely running our arts venue, The Loft and I have a stage, lights, sound, and possibly an audience, so I really want to do something. We have a film screening room. I could show something before a main feature. I was trying to see if I could either gather people up and film the first episode of the series and screen it, or try to have them perform it live in front of an audience. If I could pull off live it would be awesome. The story is about a group of D&D players, and most of the series takes place at a dining room table. Watching people basically play scripted D&D live would be pretty funny, even though that isn't the point. Another idea I had was having two art shows. The first is the Bad Art Expo, which is a collection of really bad art that you find. I have a few great pieces like the cat and clown in our header image. This is something I've been planning for a while, and I'm just going to put it on the calendar and get started. The second show is where artists would paint onto an existing painting, adding to the original art. I got the idea from this a painting of a horse, that someone added a little hat, cigar, eyebrows, and a slit throat, and signed it Smarty Jones. I recently found a painting of a beach and the sea, so I'm definitely going to add a huge sea battle. So that's another idea.. I've also been building a marquee for the theater room at our arts space. The front wall will have a marquee that comes out with the names of the films. I am also putting fake bricks on this wall (hopefully today) and I will definitely share some pictures. And I've been maintaining a website/ blog for the venue too. (I'm seriously on my own with this place). Here's the site: www.theloftnj.comWhat's everyone else up to?

It's been an abnormally busy week for us.
We saw the War of the Roses cycle performed by Cate Blanchett and the Sydney Theatre Company. It was really amazing! It was in two four hour chunks, which I was worried was going to be too much Shakespeare to watch in one sitting, but it was fine.
And the Watchmen, of course.
And we're super busy with wedding stuff too.
I did finish off Love Puppets #3 though, and will be putting it together to print really soon.
I have a couple of pages of Glorious Bounty pencilled and only partially inked. They really need attention this week. I also need to get back to Gingerbread Houses. Unfortunately this week coming is awfully busy too. Being too relaxed about our wedding so far means that we have a lot to do at the moment. Oops.
We are also seeing Rhys Darby do stand up on Tuesday night (Murray from Flight of the Conchords).

Hrmm... well, I did something productive last week in that I went to my first life drawing session in 8 years. I started a thread about it to see if anyone else was interested, but haven't had any takers yet.
I've pitched to do the illustrations for some learning education books for kids. I should hear back about that in a week or so.
Also been pitching some logo designs to potential clients. Fun stuff. Also waiting to hear back from a client in regards to two jobs for her, one is doing some forms and stationery for her, the other is an outsourced one where I'm doing some work for the Chamber of Commerce through her.
That's about it for me.

I like the idea of doing life drawing sessions, but doubt we could ever commit to regular sessions, and certainly not till after the wedding.

Been semi-busy this past week, but nothing so much as being creatively productive. Big news is that I finally have a job. 6 months to the day that I was laid off, I took a job with a local YMCA doing a fairly similar job to what I was doing (before I was doing summer camp 85% of the time, with the other 15% going to after school programming, where as now it is looking to be 75% after school programming, 25% summer camp). of course, I took the job, but I still don't know when I start (yay for HR being on vacation), so I may be starting as early as tomorrow.
Been also doing a lot for our wedding too. we're getting married in Indiana in October, and we live in New Hampshire (15 hour drive one way), so much of our planning has been via the phone/internet and not so much in person, but a few weeks ago we took a trip out there to visit in person and finalize some things. best part of the whole process so far? watching my mother cringe everytime we mention how we are going to do something that goes against what she has in her minds eye for how our wedding should be (her ideal wedding is something of a Catholic nature from start to finish, we're going for more campy/outdoors on top of a dam, with a campfire in the evening and recreations between the ceremony and reception. mostly thinking of archery, capture the flag, and ultimate frisbee). also, she wants tule. fuck tule.
Also, saw Watchmen, and celebrated my cats birthday (basicly by going "its my cats birthday, YAY!").
upcoming - I think my main computer is starting to die, so it may be being rebuilt soon (it will not be craputer II)

Tip for all you getting married: elope
I am not kidding in the slightest, my wife and I escaped up to Broome and it was bloody great. They have agencies and stuff that'll arrange all the fine details for you, and make it nice and easy by doing things like "Select the flower type and colours you want for your bouquet". All we had to show up with was our IDs for the papers to sign, and what we were going to wear (I got to be barefoot, without a tux, on the beach and at sunset, brilliant!). Everyone I tried to give the advice to afterwards really regretted not doing it.
Granted... you do have to put up with your family afterwards nagging about how you must not love them cause you didn't invite them. Lucky for me, I can shrug that off easily.

Hey all!
I've been plotting my new play, which is the one woman show with Arielle that I hope to debut in October. We're putting in a submission to the Blue Room on Monday. Had a big meeting on Sunday and a lot of cool ideas were thrown around. I have the five characters, the design and the tone of it locked. Just need to put it all together. Going to be a big project that will keep me busy most of the year in one way or another. Am very excited about it.
Also very excited about seeing more Glorious Bounty!
