Wow! A long time since we've had one of these. Working full time has made me remiss. Time for a catch up.
Creatively the new show has been my focus this week. There was a big run of sourcing and purchasing costumes which led to a 900 photo shoot on Tuesday. Have done some post work on a few of those photos and they can be seen on my blog. Only three of the five characters have been photographed so I'm trying to line up the other two in the next week.
Talking of which I need an old school girl scout costume. Any ideas on where to source this? I'm drawing a blank. Modern uniforms are nothing more than polo shirts. I want something you'd see in an old book.
Finding a title for the show was fraught with difficulty. It has been called about four different things in the last week before settling on Nobody Cares But You. There's also been all the paperwork and contracts and press releases to deal with. A lot of lead up for a show that doesn't start until October, but June - August will put me in a pure writing phase which (I think) I am looking forward to. Will probably involve wine.
And the weekend just past had me speaking in Margaret River at a writer's conference so that was pretty good too.
Oh, and I'm reading lots of comics which is sort of creative development. Read the new Dungeon and some other great stuff courtesy of Grug and finally discovered 100 Bullets which is engrossing, uncomfortable and fantastic.
Teaching a few classes at school in the next few weeks about comics appreciation. I've put Dungeon, Scott Pilgrim, Kingdom Come and American Born Chinese on the curriculum. Looking forward to that too.
And Lowemannzeit preparations are in full swing (actually all I did was change the colours on my blog but I'm looking forward to that too).
What did you do?
