I was looking through a blog the other day, where everyday he takes a photo and posts it to his blog then talks a bit about it. Sometimes just a few sentences, other times a couple paragraphs. and thats about it. (It's Phils by the way - 365philnjill09.blogspot.com/)As I'm looking through it, I'm thinking that I would like to try something like this too, as I do enjoy taking photos, I just don't always find myself doing so, and perhaps something like this might keep me taking more and such. of course, never looking to keep it too simple, I was also thinking that it might be neat to make it a group project, where multiple people could author posts to a shared blog, and we have a calendar set up ahead of time with themes that the photos would fall into (not talking major epic themes, something as simple as blue, or cars, or dinosaurs). Photos would have to be taken the same day that they are to be posted, and it just goes. Any thoughts towards this, as well as any other takers on this holding an interest to them?

Count me in. I take lots of photos and they just sit on my hard drive. I've love to be a part of this.

I think it'd be great, but I next to never take photos.

This does sound fun, although I have trouble keeping up with my own blog. I would contribute when I can.

So... what, we make a list of 4 or things then, over the course of a month, we take a picture (or pictures) that incorporate the things? I like the sound of this, but may find it difficult to get stuff done on a weekly basis. Especially since I'm now going to Uni and working at the same time.

well, it would be daily, and there would be a theme for each day, and you take the photo of the days theme and post it in the same day. There are ways to do it with a cameraphone and have it post to blogs, but I don't know how that would work if multiple people were attached to the same blog.

I think if you used "post by email" multiple contributors could do it, but I think it would always be considered the same user. I'll do some research on multiple bloggers on one blog.
Do you definitely have to take the picture the same day as it's posted? I can see reasons why that would be the case, but it could be a little tough for some people. You would need to go to the site early in the day to see the theme, take a picture at some point during that day and then make it to a computer to post (if not taken on a phone).
If the next few upcoming themes were listed in advance, and you had that extra time to take photos it might make it easier. But I can totally understand if that's not the idea here.

I was thinking that the themes would be posted well in advance, most likely by the month, so you know in advance what to be looking for. not looking to make it challenging, as I'd want it to be accessible to everyone. the themes would serve more as a guidance as opposed to an in-depth challenge

Sounds great. Looking forward to it.
Any luck with a title yet?

well, this morning we launched the blog, entitled A Step Ahead of the Composition and can be found at the following web address: astepaheadofthecomposition.blogspot.comstill working out the kinks as to how to get it running smoothly, but the calendar of themes is up for the month of August, and we already have 7 people posting, plus another 4 or 5 that are in the process of getting in on the game.
