Hmmm.. Week Ending the 9th eh?
Well, on the 9th I am DM'ing an old skool Dungeons and Dragons session. Its been a while between meetings and in the last one the group saw off a nasty little black dragon named Noak, thus ending their current adventure.
So I have to come up with a new one. Which is always a hell of a lot more work than I think it is going to be. Pesky players always wanting to know things, go places, talk to people, buy things. So that I need to do. If I don't, one of the guys who plays a particularly ornery dwarf fighter by the name of Erdhal Warrack will get angry and headbutt me. (He has an email address just for his character - that's commitment.)
Yes I am a giant geek. You already knew that right?
Also, I am supposed to be embarking proudly on NanoEditMo. Which is were I finally finish editing the novel I wrote in June. I was meant to start on the 1st actually. Ooops.
And I have a list of stuff for the Short play I am directing in December that I need to get on to. Like learn to speak with a flawless Czech accent so I can shame my actors in to doing the same.
Also, I need to finally get my websites up and running so that I can proudly post the link here and thus finally begin my quest for interweb notoriety!
To it!

I love D&D. I have thought about playing a lot more than I've ever actually played. I had a small group of casual players in high school and it was always such a good time. I've tried DMing with my wife and brothers in the past... but it's a TON of work and I don't think I'm good enough for it.

I love gaming and D&D. we're currently playing a Vampire game thats coming to a close, and we may be either jumping into a D&D game, a Star Wars game, or (if I have my way with it) a Deadlands game (think Cthulthu meets wild west, and California has fallen into the ocean). Out of curiosity, has anyone picked up and read the new 4e books? Word is the game has moved more towards a WoW approach to gaming.

We play 3/3.5 as Heath shuns the 4e.
Our All Powerful DM is actually a bit confused. We scared off Noak the session before last (taking one of her horns with us). The last session we defeated a powerful Calzone Golem. Well, most of our group did. The cleric and I missed the action as we were helping a poor, unfortunate man who had been tied to a bed.
Anyway, we all got XP and now I have a magic flute!

I picked up the corebooks for 4e only because I was able to find them cheap online. They are pretty, but I don't think that i will playing it anytime soon (it's not D&D, and they changed too much for the worse). I still prefer 2e to 3e, but no one I know locally will play it with me.

I'm a halfling bard. Take that, convention.
It was a classic tomato, cheese and spices Calzone Golem. Stabbing it only brought you burning damage from its belly sauce.
I ate some of its ingredient-cheese. I rolled for delicousness. (it was pretty delicious)

I DO love giving advice! Um, I would advise you to use an eraser to carve, I bought some fancy carving rubber but it was too soft! I used a good-quality eraser (Staedtler). I also used a hobby knife for the first one but have since bought some cheap carving tools (like for lino carving) that work much better.
Now I want to go make stamps!

Oh and also: On Tuesday I worked on a HUGE painting that my friend Lisa and I are doing together, and designed a big plush monster to go in the window of the gallery where we are having our exhibition. Last night I cut the pieces for it and started embroidering its face. I think it's going to look awesome!

I've used steadtler for carving before, definitely easier to use. I needed something big, and was actually able to find some pink stuff (speedball). started carving GH Leia, so far so good. using xacto knives for it, though I've been meaning to pick up some cheap carving tools to make it easier, but just never get around to it.
Also - We now have a cat. he's orange and white, and weighs about 700 pounds, and goes by the name Elwin (he knows his name and comes running when he hears it). will post pictures later.

This past week I was super busy with all kinds of stuff. My daughters first birthday was really crazy, and bigger than some small weddings. I did get the opportunity to write a few thousand words for Nanowrimo and work on a few card games (thanks to everyone who contributed pixel characters).

I had a pretty quiet week (deliberately) after the hellish two weeks before, so daily comics was my entire achievements for the week, really. These are the first four pages of the current chapter of Sketchies: Other than that, I started cleaning up our study. My drawing desk is pretty much cleared now, which it hasn't been for... like a year? And my computer desk is started, but needs more work. I'm preparing for a new computer (my first Mac) and an A3 scanner. I'm going to start working at double size, starting with the two new graphic novels I'm going to be working on. (One of which is the one with Luke) It's all pretty exciting!
