I'm really inspired to get back into my photography. I'm a total amateur with dodgy equipment but I really enjoy it and don't spend enough time trying to set more of it up. Here's a link to some of my stuff on my blog: lukemiltonwrites.blogspot.com/2008/08/fledgling-photography.htmlI've got a few potential things coming up though which is cool, and I'm thinking of setting myself some sort of challenge - like doing a different shoot every week for six weeks or something. Anything to keep it all churning. Actually there's a project that I'd really like to do. I was chatting to Jay about his game stuff he's making on championland and there's really good prices for printing up sets of playing cards. I would love to photograph a set of playing cards and get it printed, I think that would be great. So all I have to do now is find 54 models. Which will be easy. Right? Right?

54 models... It's not fun unless it's challenging, right?
Playing cards is also on my list of ideas for championland. I want to design a set of playing cards myself, and I always thought it would be cool to print an artist series of different decks of cards designed by different artists. It may have already been done somewhere too, but that doesn't matter to me.

I'm still thinking about this and I need to make it happen. Wondering if it should be a themed set? Might be easier to approach models and set up shoots that way. I should create a big master list and slot in models as I confirm them. I think it will be cool to choose Kings and Queens and everything too.

I think you should make it happen too. A theme would be cool.
I may have a Photography project as well. My Nanowrimo project has almost 120 chapters, and each chapter is named after a character in the story. I really I want to put the characters senior yearbook photo at the top of each chapter. I found some online, and they are working out really well as I write, but I only found about 40 or so. I could also pick up some yearbooks on ebay and just use images from them.
But I think it would be really fun to get 120 people around 18 years old and set up some cheesey backdrops, with tuxedo tops for the guys and formal tops for the girls. It's overly ambitious and could be really tough to find that many people. But I think it would be a lot of fun.

Did a shoot last night for a monologue I'm working on! Great to be back into it. Here's a taste. More at my blog.

Looks good, a bit messy. Like the plastic sheeting too!

oh yeah I saw those on your blog and was quite impressed. I always wanted to get into photography but really don't know the first thing about it....mostly my pictures end up way too dark or just high-school photo class cliched....

or just high-school photo class cliched.... ;D I might just need your assistance for my upcoming photo project. That's the exact style I'm going for.

I think the deck of cards is a brilliant idea. If you are still looking for models, let me know, a former work mate of mine seems to be doing tons of photographing nowadays (he seems to be adding a new photo shoot up to his facebook page weekly), I'm sure I could get some recommendations from him.
