For those of you who are interested/care, the vote is currently 207 Obama - 141 McCain at 10:43 est (typically a 12 hour difference from Perth). The magic number is 270 votes. Becca and I were out smoozing and hob knobbing with high society (aka our senator elects). We would still be there had it not been for me having to go interview tomorrow.

ABC News just declared/predicted Obama the president elect. I'd tell you what the other stations say, but its the only channel we get.

Channel 7 is saying Obama has won, and that even if he lost every state whose result hasn't come in yet, he would still win. Theres a massive party in washington with a stage set up and any minute Obama's gunna arrive and do his thang. Or so I've heard.
Hurrah!

I've seen both CNN's 297-139 and on Yahoo 324-124. Either way, Obama wins.
Really happy with this. The thought of McCain / Palin really scared me.

Foxnews.com has declared obama the winner, so it must be true.

just watched McCains consession speech. I like McCain, just nothing that he or his campaign stands for (if that makes sense)
I'm pretty happy about it. Becca is pretty ecstatic about it, and it does feel like everything has changed already for the best. Its still pretty early for that, but still, its pretty cool.

Americans? Any thought/feelings? Whew. That's my initial feeling. I was worried about this election. I really felt like Obama needed to win, and wondered what the hell would happen if McCain won. I was much more scared of something happening to him and Palin ending up as President. Now that it's over, I feel really good. I think that we seriously need a better image throughout the world, and a lot of people hate America due to our government. Electing Obama / Democrat as president is a huge step in that direction.
