So if you've read my blog of late you'll know that I've been excited about the upcoming Rock Band for Xbox? Well apparently it's out early! Except EB stuffed up my pre-order but JB Hifi has a drum kit waiting for me. We pick it up IN THE MORNING.
ROCK!!!!
What's a good name for our new band?

I was at a band rehearsal space the other day and they had a list of band names on the wall. They were all horrible, but the only one I can remember is The Groovetronics.

I've been playing solo all afternoon. Suzanne and I will start our band tomorrow. I have been drumming like a mofo. It's pretty awesome. I'm on medium difficulty with it and was going okay until some stupid fuckpig song towards the end. Something by The Outlaws. I despise it.
Hey Jay, can you calibrate your game to your TV to fix the sync issues? According to my manual it has settings in the options to deal with this not uncommon problem, but I don't know if that's been added for our release. It works fine for me but i know you were having trouble with yours.

Hey Jay, can you calibrate your game to your TV to fix the sync issues? According to my manual it has settings in the options to deal with this not uncommon problem, but I don't know if that's been added for our release. It works fine for me but i know you were having trouble with yours. My issue is mostly mental, I'm sure. I had this problem with GH3 and then again with Rock Band. Basically you can calibrate your TV to sync with the game. But after playing around with the calibration I could only play one of two ways. Playing at the same time as the music (but the images are a little late/early) or playing at the same time as the images (with the music being a little late/early). It started to make my head hurt and I couldn't enjoy myself. I know it works fine with non-HD TVs, but I threw my old TVs out when I got two sweet HD ones. I need to give it another shot. I love those games, and I have two that I've never really played yet. Elle has a small 12" Hello Kitty TV in her room that isn't HD. Maybe I can set up Rock Band in there and give it a shot again. She would probably love it. But I just remembered that my XBox is bricked. I need to call Microsoft tonight about getting it fixed.

I should get on Xbox live again when you're fixed and we can play.
I've been drumming for two days and my head is so frigging fuzzy. I feel dazed. I can still hear the drums in my head. It's creepy. Every click on the keyboard as I type gives me a headache.

I was at Toys R Us last night and they had the new Guitar Hero set up, but the disc was unreadable. The kid told me that Walmart had a huge Rock Band 2 display in the mens section. I headed over there instead and there was a small stage with a huge TV right by all of the mens t-shirts. I patiently waited my turn while a little kid played through a song, and then got a chance to play. I played Dinosaur Jr's Feel The Pain. I love that song, and it's really fun on guitar. I don't mess around with the drums. It's confusing. No wonder you're so dizzy. I can play real drums fairly well, and I can barely hang on Rock Band's drums.
We should definitely meet up on Xbox live when I'm set up again.

The one problem with this otherwise awesome idea is that you'll be on RockBand 2 and we only just got the first one. Hopefully they'll race along the release of the second one here...

That's a ridiculous delay. But I've heard that Rock Band 2 is very similar to 1, just with new songs.
Do you guys have Guitar Hero World Tour yet? I know they added the ability to make/edit your own songs. I've been hoping for that since the start.
Carolyn suggested that I should set up my old PS2 Guitar Heros for Elle's big first birthday party on Sunday. The party is up at our arts venue, and we have the stage, the sound system and video projector.

World Tour comes out on Wednesday I think. Rumour is that the instruments are compatible, so if thats the case we might get it and use our rock band instruments with it (we're already using a guitar hero guitar on rock band because the rock band one kind of sucks). I might upgrade to the world tour drums in the future.

I definitely can't get used to the feeling of the Rock Band guitar. Something about it just feels weird to me. The higher notes can be fun.
The World Tour guitar has some kind of slide function. Either the demo guitar wasn't able to slide, or I just couldn't figure it out.

I've had no real problems with the rock band equipment, but then, I'm using my friends for the PS3, and I only have a PS2 RB guitar. I'm hoping that by christmas I'll have a job and an xbox and will be that much closer to being able to rock out with you all
