Snow!

We got snow today. While not much (just a dusting) it means the season is upon us. whats messed up though is that todays high is supposed to be about 35f (little under 2c), but tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50s (10c), and Friday they are calling for a possible nor'easter (Latin for fuckload of snow if memory serves). I'm wondering if my cat has ever played in the snow before. hmmm....

really? I thought that you all had snow when we have 100f days (37.5c). well, at least I think thats true for melbourne.

I have had snow off an on since just before thanksgiving. We just had like 1-2 inches come down sunday-monday. And now it changed to fucking freazing rain!!! WHAT THE HELL! And now they say it will change to regular rain cuase the temps are going up to like 40 something.

There are very few places in Australia that get snow, and those places are on top of mountains. (and on the other side of the country from me)

Snow is nice at first, but it can quickly become annoying. Driving anywhere takes 3 times as long, and when there is a lot of snow (like Colossal Cockhole's Nor'easter) we have to dig out our cars (sometimes the town will plow the cold hard snow right up to your car) and keep the sidewalk clear (if someone falls, they'll sue!). Then it sticks around for a while and turns brown.

haha we had that problem for the last couple days too...snow, rain, freezing rain....it's been fun watching people go skidding around the canadian tire (a walmart-like department store with a canadian twist...they're not just tires!) parking lot below my balconey while I smoke....even though we live in canada and everyone should be used to it by now, there's always tons of people unprepared to drive once the season takes hold...

more than 2/3rds of the state is currently covered in ice, and of the 500,000 residents that our power company services, 200,000 do not currently have power.

More snow overnight, though this time its looking to stay. I'd say its about 2-3 inches right now, though I'm not sure if its supposed to snow more or not. My cat wants to go play in it as he's been looking out the window all morning at it, so I may surprise him with a snowball when he's least expecting it. He would do the same for me if he could open doors.

yep, we got 7-10 cm last night and throughout the morning and looks like another 10-15 on friday....weee.....
