I missed this. I always use the last 10 posts button and if we have more than that I miss it.
This is hilarious to me. Is it an accurate portrayal of your transit system? We need more raps about trains. Nice to see some Toronto though.

I really admire the commitment of people when they write a whole song and do a clip and get it out there. Granted, there's a lot of shit out there as well, but I liked this. It's low key and cute and funny.

I like the guy in the blue jay hat's voice. Some nice vocoder/autotune stuff going on.
"Move your leg over dog, stop touching mine I'm super straight" cracked me up.
The closest I've been to toronto was going to Toys R Us in St. Catherines. I was in Canada for 4 days, and liked it so much that I picked up some property/real estate books and really talked about the possibilities of moving up there.

Thats pretty awesome. It sounds really familiar (melody/tone, not lyrics) but can't place it. I keep meaning to make a trip to Toronto as its only 9 1/2 hours (something we would do for an extended weekend, especially since we haven't been there) but something comes up. maybe in 2009 it'll happen.

haha no worries...and yeah it's kind of an accurate portrayal of our transit system....
oh as to how I found it...it was actually NEWS yesterday....like, in the newspaper and on our all-day news channel (http://www.cp24.com/) so I had to check it out, and then I figured that I'd better post....
It's funny, cause I drive those subway trains through most of those stations, and I used to drive most of the busses they mention too, including the Kennedy 43 which drives by them constantly. I grew up in Scarborough and tended to drive bus there when I could as well, since I know the streets better....
Oh and oddly this is not the first song about the TTC. There's another great one although much older....hold on.

haha they actually have it! Check this one out...it's the bus that used to bring my drunk ass home from the punk bars and vampire clubs at spadina and queen.
It actually got replaced by a streetcar now, and this band played this song live on the very last bus to run on spadina.

the shuffle demons? I don't know if they still play shows or not....if they do, I haven't heard of it, so I am guessing no. And yeah that sounds like about the right timeline for that video....you can tell as some of our busses were still the ugly brown colour  |
