I dunno if any of you were/are Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans, or if any of you are aware of Rifftrax, but tomorrow (or possibly tonight, depending on where you are) they are doing a free live show online. They will be riffing a short called "Self Conscious Guy" and then doing a live Q & A. If you're unfamiliar with MST3K, it was a show where they got the worst movies ever made and made jokes while watching them. It last ten seasons and even had a theatrical film. Now days Rifftrax sells MP3s of commentaries you play in sync with more modern movies. Mostly still terrible, though not exclusively. They have done things like Battlefield Earth, Crossroads (the Brittney Spears one) and Top Gun to name a few. I think most of their work is great, and if you haven't tried them, this is a good way to, for free. The broadcast will happen here: www.rifftrax.com/live Jan 15th at 9pm East Coast / 6 pm West Coast (US time)
That works out to be 11 am on Friday morning here in Perth for those interested. I think it'll be pretty awesome, the shorts are often their funniest work, and it's a once in a lifetime event (though they are selling a recorded version after the show).

I need to start getting these. Problem is if I start getting them, I'm going to want them all, and I don't have a lot of the movies they've riffed. If you like these though, have you checked out Cinematic Titanic yet? www.cinematictitanic.com/It's Joel, Mary Jo, Frank, Trace, And Josh Weinstein doing the MST3K bit without the bots and the host segments. They've just released their 6th episode...which is on it's way to me even as we speak.

I also am a big Cin Tit fan!
As far as Rifftrax goes, there are some VODs that you can start with that don't need any syncing.
Try Troll 2 (featuring Lowtax), Plan 9 or Missile to the Moon (featuring Fred Willard!) And of course the shorts.
The Film Crew DVDs were great too.
There's another free live show on Wednesday week, they haven't announced the time yet.

Mike, you may be able to find some of the movies streaming online on sites like hulu.com. Netflix too maybe (which streams through the xbox I hear now)

There's also always torrents.
I've done that for movies that were severely edited here (or there - our version of Casino Royale is longer than yours)

and it looks like if you search for rifftrax in torrent engines it comes up with the movie plus the rifftrax, so its sort of like 2 birds with one stone.

Oh, I would, don't worry. I try to support whenever I can, especially if its something I really enjoy. I just did a search for rifftrax movies not thinking to go to the rifftrax site to see what movies they have done already.

You are a wonderful human being!
(I mean that in a fun Rodney Dangerfield way and not in a sarcastic douche-bag kinda way. ;P)
