Okay, I caught up. I'm a little bit ahead at 8,636.
It can be done.

6699 as of 15 minutes ago. my plot is starting to perpetuate itself, and this weekend should actually be rather productive, too, so i'm not panicking yet.

I'm at 6126. I wrote a lot last night, went back and fixed it up this morning. If I write 2000 today I'll be right on track.

I'm on 6000 now. I am still behind, but I figure if I do 2000 every day for a while it'll creep back up. Its fine. Not worried.

good call. my plan is to shoot for 2000 a day, so i'll be able to take a few days off and still finish. also, we have a holiday weekend in the states to end the month if we need to make up 15k at the last minute, which is a pretty nice luxury.

I'm at 8154. I was really excited because I thought today was the 5th, and that I was finally ahead of the game. damn!

7298 is my latest update of all things NaNo related. Funnily enough the number relates to how many words I have written thus far. Coincidence? I think not. Behind much? I think yes.

so, my brother broke into my computer earlier today so he could listen to music in the shower, and he read what i have so far and offered his (unsolicited) advice. trying to incorporate said advice is absolutely killing my motivation to do anything. fuck.

My advice (heh) is to only use advice to qualify your own feelings about your work. If deep in your heart you think he's right then incorporate it, but if you are unsure or disagree then use it to empower yourself to keep doing what you want. I write much better when I'm writing from the "fuck you" place.

problem being, he is one of the only people whose opinions on this matter to me, and he is right, in a way. but the part he told me was missing is the stuff i'm not as good at writing, so i was going to gloss over it and fill it in later. but now that he's mentioned it, i can't stop trying to do it. it's like trying not to think of elephants.
i limped my way to 9093 before i passed out last night.

I just passed the 10,000 mark. I'm a bit behind and may be able to focus and catch up tonight. It feels really good to be this far into it, and hanging in there with everyone else.

fuck, you're ahead of me. I've been sitting on 8,900 since Thursday and BJ is on his way around for some Rock Band. Guess I'm going to have to catch up tonight and tomorrow.

Rock Band kills creativity!!! But damn do I wish I was playing it tonight instead of trying to write 3500 words. I said that it feels good being caught up. Rock band probably feels even better.

I'm aiming to hit 10 000 tonight, which means if I keep to my current schedule, I will hit 30 000 by the end of November. Urgh. Usually my weekends are massive catchup days, so obviously this weekend was a writeoff (I kick arse at rock band) but the coming ones should hopefully pull me out of the mire a bit. J, you are doing awesome. I'm envious
